Journey to Cambodia
About Suzanne
I am a 40 year old stay at home mom of 3 young children,
ages 9,6 and 3. Prior to having children, I was in Real Estate
Finance. I have been practicing yoga for about 5 years and
know that it has changed my life. I have practiced primarily
with Tina Lanzoni at Evolve Yoga (part of Evolutions). The
best way to describe Tina is that as she is so comfortable
in her own skin, she allows you to be the same. Taking one
of her yoga clases leaves you magically feeling better about
yourself. Yoga has helped me to strengthen my body and mind,
challenging me physically and raising me up spiritually.
I recently took a yoga workshop with Seane Corne, another
wonderful yoga teacher, as well as an activist for many worthy
causes. When I heard of this opportunity to raise money for
orphans in Cambodia and to actually be a part of the trip
myself, I was inspired. I was particularly touched by the
fact that many young parents there are dying from Aids (creating
orphans)and many young girls are being sold as sex slaves.
This is only the beginning of my journey and how I can give
back. My long term goal is to begin teaching yoga either in
shelters or low income areas where people would not otherwise
afford such an oportunity. I believe that these women, some
of whom have been abused physically, verbally or sexually,
could be uplifted by practicing yoga. By improving their inner
and outer strength, the possibilities are endless.
